Foo Fighters have canceled their performance at this weekend’s Soundside Music Festival. The show would have marked the band’s first appearance since Dave Grohl shared news about his newborn daughter earlier this month.
The festival is scheduled for September 28 and 29 at the Hartford HealthCare Amphitheater in Bridgeport, Connecticut, where Foo Fighters were slated to headline Sunday night. Jack White and Greta Van Fleet have been added to the lineup to take their place.
The band did not provide a reason for the cancellation. “Foo Fighters will no longer be appearing at this weekend’s Soundside Music Festival,” they stated in a brief social media announcement. “Please check the festival website for more information.”
This performance was expected to be their first since Grohl publicly announced the birth of his daughter outside of his marriage earlier in September. “I’ve recently become the father of a new baby daughter, born outside of my marriage. I plan to be a loving and supportive parent to her,” the singer wrote. “I love my wife and my children, and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness. We’re grateful for your consideration toward all the children involved, as we move forward together.”
While this announcement coincided with the ongoing affair scandal, there’s no indication that the cancellation is related to it.
