Sammy Hagar recently introduced a playful new persona on Instagram, sharing a video where he sports a wig and humorously adopts an exaggerated attitude. In the video, Hagar says, “What the f*ck is your problem, huh? You got a problem? Huh?”* He captioned the post with a lighthearted note: “What happens in Mexico? No one got hurt. Make sure to swipe to see all the antics.”
While the video was originally meant to capture fun memories from his time in Mexico with his wife, one particular comment from a fan caught Hagar’s attention. A user joked, “It’s David Lee Hagar! Who knew?!” Hagar responded with clapping and laughing emojis, acknowledging the playful comparison to former Van Halen frontman David Lee Roth.
Hagar and Roth have had a tumultuous relationship over the years, with their differences becoming more public in recent years. Tensions between the two escalated when Roth released a diss track targeting Hagar. The track, titled ‘Where Is David Lee Roth Director’s Cut?’, included lyrics such as, “Sammy Hagar’s not the same / You can drop that singer from extreme / But no matter where you walk around / There’s a little David everyone.”
In addition to the diss track, Roth declined Hagar’s invitation to join the Best of All Worlds tour. Despite the slight, Hagar seemed unfazed, saying that Roth is an unpredictable person. He further explained the grand scale of his tour, revealing that he had invested over $1.5 million into the production, which was designed to elevate the entire experience for fans.
