In a recent interview with The Hair Metal Guru, POISON drummer Rikki Rockett was asked about the possibility of new music from the iconic glam metal band. Rockett responded candidly (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET), saying, “I don’t know. I am sitting right here. I would do it in a minute. I have a little studio out here… So I’m ready to work. I love touring and I love recording. I love the involvement on both ends of the music business — not the business part; I hate the business part of it. But playing and recording, anytime, man. I’m good to go.”
Despite Rockett’s enthusiasm, POISON‘s most recent studio album featuring new material was 2002’s Hollyweird, followed by a 2007 album of covers titled Poison’d.
In 2018, POISON bassist Bobby Dall also weighed in on the band’s potential for new music. While he agreed that the band “should” be working on a new album, he acknowledged the challenges involved. “I’m not going to bullsh*t you and say there’s any [new music] in the process [of being made],” Dall admitted during an interview with All That Shreds. “Would I like there to be? Yes. But, it’s a matter of everyone having the time. Everybody in the band has other commitments. Some members have younger children than others. So between those two issues, it’s difficult, and, you know, [there are] health issues as we get older. Should we be making a new record? Yes, definitely. But will it happen? I don’t know.”
