Iron Maiden guitarist Adrian Smith has offered fans a glimpse into what to expect from the band’s upcoming tour, revealing that a completely new setlist is on the way—and acknowledging the challenges of keeping surprises in the age of instant internet exposure.
In a recent appearance on SiriusXM’s Trunk Nation With Eddie Trunk, Smith shared updates on the band’s preparations.
“It should be great. A completely new setlist,” Smith said. “We’ve been doing [‘The Future Past’] thing for the best part of three years, so it’s a completely new set. I think the fans are gonna absolutely love it.”
Rehearsals for the new leg of the tour are just around the corner, and the band is gearing up for another massive run.
“We’ll be starting rehearsing in a couple of weeks,” he continued. “It’s just getting ready for it and going out again. I can’t wait, really.”
But Smith was also honest about the realities of touring in today’s digital age—when secrets are short-lived and every move is captured online.
“After the first show, it’ll be all over the Internet. Everyone’s gonna know the setlist, everyone’s gonna know what it looks like, everyone’s gonna know the f*ckups we made. That’s just the way it is now. But it’ll be special, I think.”
The new setlist announcement comes at a key transition moment for the legendary band, especially amid buzz around changes in their drumming lineup. With fresh material, revamped stage energy, and global anticipation, Iron Maiden’s next chapter looks anything but ordinary.
