German guitar virtuoso Christian Muenzner, who played with some of the best technical death metal bands like Necrophagist, Spawn of Possession and Obscura, has now formed his own band ‘Eternity’s End’, and they are ready to release their debut album ‘The Fire Within’ (Click Here To Read Our Review). People would assume that this band also plays some form of progressive death metal, but in fact, Eternity’s End is an energetic-sounding neoclassical power metal group. We found this interesting, and decided to have a chat with Muenzner and Eternity’s End keyboard player Jimmy Pitts.
The interview is divided into 2 parts. In Part 1, Muenzner and Pitts talk about Eternity’s End’s power metal sound, playing with other members Hannes Grossmann, Linus Klausenitizer and Ian Parry, and about the way they write their guitar and keyboard parts. Muenzner talks about his signature neoclassical approach and influences to guitar-playing here, so it’s certainly worth checking out.
