In September this year, Paradise Lost released their fifteenth opus ‘Medusa’, and on the eve of their return to Australian Soil for the first time in over six years, frontman Nick Holmes spoke with Metal Wani’s Jake Patton to discuss the new album and impending tour.
Talking about the bands direction since their last Australian tour, they discuss the past three albums Tragic Idol, The Plague Within, and the reception for Medusa, before discussing the difficulties in picking the right setlist from a career that covers 15 albums and almost 30 years.
They then talk about signing with Nuclear Blast records for this release, and Medusa more closely and how changes in the band have impacted on the songwriting process, and how the band feels the reception for the album has been since its release, before shifting focus to new drummer Waltteri Väyrynen and exploring the difference in age gap and that impact that this age difference had on the bands sound.
They conclude by talking about the status of upcoming BLOODBATH album, plans to enter studio in January 2018 to record the next album & more.
