During a chat with KSHE radio station, Judas Priest’s Rob Halford was asked how was it to perform with guitarist K.K. Downing at the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame.
About this, the singer replied:
“It was good. We hadn’t seen him in forever. And I’ve still yet to watch footage of that. All I remember is my brief interactions with K.K. because I’m always running around the stage like a mad drag queen. My interactions with Ken and with Les, it was great. It felt wonderful to have that moment together after such a long time.
”And that just shows you the power, the weight, the vibe that the Rock Hall suggests you try to attempt. Try and recapture something of the essence that is really part of why you’re here, why you’re being inducted. I was just so happy that Ken and Les showed up because they needed to be there. It was entirely their choice, but I said it makes absolute sense if you’re in the room and we’re playing together. And we did, and it was magical.”
It was so AWESOME to see the legendary K.K. Downing on stage with Rob Halford again, he has ALWAYS been so very under rated, but sorry, Without Glenn Tipton, it’s kinda just NOT Judas Priest!,
No offense to Richie Faulkner, who IS a fantastic guitarist, but it’s just not “Priest” without the original members up front!
Unfortunately and sadly, Glenn is just too ill to perform anymore.
Also so very sad that Rob has NO voice left and hasn’t had “it” in quite a number of years now! He really sounds just so awful, it’s been at a point where it’s just embarrassing!
Also dumb that it took them so long to finally get into that joke club!
“Rock and Roll” HOF”
Nah! More like “Whomever is/was a pop/front-runner/kiddie pop metal/alt/punk/disco/hib-hob/grunge/jazz artist/band, as long as you were a top sales act/band/singer, you get in club”
Rob was the best, but age, use/over use/abuse and sheer lack of proper, voice saving self-care took it’s toll, self care IS a big and highly important daily thing for EVERY singer- (I speak from my 30 years of being a rock/metal singer) -to stick with, obviously just wasn’t done and the past few albums are boring and he just sounds bad!.
Avoiding smoking!, which Rob didn’t do, he is/was a heavy smoker, smoking RUINS vocal chords and lungs!
Avoid dairy products, milk makes too much mucus, which clogs the throat!
Avoid too much caffeine and chocolate and fatty foods! DO plenty of sit-ups and crunches EVERY morning, keep those ab’s tight, it helps with vocal strength and control!
DO plenty of cardio, such as biking, hiking, jogging, running, swimming! It helps the lungs expand and stay healthy!
DO drink plenty of water, juice, take vitamins and eat healthy! And YOU could have a great voice for many decades!
