KISS wrapped up their End of the Road farewell tour with a grand finale at Madison Square Garden in New York City on December 2, unveiling future plans that involve continuing their legacy as digital avatars.
After delivering a powerful rendition of ‘Rock and Roll All Nite’ as the concluding live performance, Paul Stanley addressed the audience, alluding to a new chapter post their current journey. Subsequently, KISS exited the stage amidst an impressive pyrotechnic display.
The Emergence of KISS Avatars
During this moment, digital renditions of their iconic characters – the Demon, Starchild, Catman, and Spaceman – materialized on screen, accompanied by the resonant notes of ‘God Gave Rock n’ Roll to You.’ These digital versions of KISS were crafted by Industrial Light & Magic (ILM) and sponsored and produced by Pophouse Entertainment from Sweden.
Planning for KISS’s Digital Future
Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley, along with Pophouse Entertainment CEO Per Sundin, JOCOUP Creative’s creative director Thierry Coup, and ILM’s VFX Supervisor Grady Cofer, recently engaged in a roundtable discussion about the band’s forthcoming avatars. Stanley expressed:
“What we’ve accomplished has been amazing, but it’s not enough. The band deserves to live on because the band is bigger than we are. It’s exciting for us to go the next step and see KISS immortalized. I mean, we’ve spent 50 years building it to this point.”
Simmons added:
“We can be forever young and forever iconic by taking us to places we’ve never dreamed of before. The technology is going to make Paul jump higher than he’s ever done before.”
